Anderson News

Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome you to Anderson Elementary.  I hope you find this school to be one of the finest school's in your child's educational career.  I feel confident, that after meeting and working with our staff members, you will feel confident that your child is under great care and their educational needs are being met.  Our staff is dedicated to our mission and work many hours to give their best.

Our 2012-13 assessment scores in MAP (K-6) and PAWS (3-6) have shown above state and district averages for students meeting proficient and advvanced levels.  We know in order for students to achieve these levels, it takes a team effort.  Students that show success in our academic assessments  have developed "out of school" habits to practice reading, writing, and math skills  for 20-30 minutes each night.  Your child's teacher will be able to share ideas and activities to support the standards they are working toward. Please ask for these ideas if you need help.

Another area we have improved has been our focus toward becoming more respectful, responsible, and safe while students are at school.  Our behaviors that support learning are key for student success.  Students will make mistakes behaviorally toward others, it is a fact of life.  However, having the parent and school partnership to instill our important behavior expectations is very important.  If you do happen to get a call from me or one of my teachers, please understand that we are going to work together to help your child.

I am very passionate about education and I hope you are too.  I look forward to the partnership we will have to make this learning environment a successful endeavor for you and your child.  If ever you need anything, please feel free to reach me at or 307-771-2606.
